Plaintiff, Charles Joseph Matherne, brought this suit for damages based on unseaworthiness under the general maritime law, negligence under the Jones Act, and for maintenance and cure against his employer, Cheramie Boat Rentals, Inc. ("Cheramie Boat"). This lawsuit arose as a result of an incident aboard the M/V NORA DUFRENE, a vessel owned by defendant, on February 13, 1982.
