A jury convicted appellant of armed robbery, D.C.Code 1981, §§ 22-2901, -3202, and carrying a pistol without a license, id. § 22-3204. During the trial, a statement made by appellant's codefendant was admitted into evidence in its entirety. This statement had been the subject of a pretrial motion for severance before a Superior Court judge who did not preside at the trial. The pretrial judge denied appellant's motion...
