Plaintiffs Arthur and Lois McNeil were sole stockholders in Hangman Ridge Training Stables, Inc., which was the named purchaser of some property under a contract of sale. Desperate for money, the McNeils applied to Farmers Home Loan Administration (FHLA) for a loan to pay off the contract vendor and other bills.
