OPINION

BURKE, Chief Justice.

This appeal challenges a disposition by the Alaska Workers' Compensation Board which has been affirmed by the superior court. We, in turn, affirm in part and reverse in part.

Jay Whaley sustained an on-the-job injury on May 1, 1976, when his feet were run over by a forklift. In trying to extricate himself from the equipment, he strained his neck and shoulders and developed a condition diagnosed as thoracic outlet syndrome...
