Buffo, was tried on the charge of aiding and abetting securities fraud, directly or indirectly, in connection with the offer, sale, or purchase of surplus notes issued by Vanguard Security Life Insurance Company (Vanguard) and in violation of Code 1975, § 8-6-17.
