Appellant non-profit corporations filed a class action suit against Broward County and the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. The gravamen of their complaint was that litigants who had deposited money in the registry of the circuit court were entitled, upon prevailing in the litigation which occasioned that deposit, to be paid the interest which had accrued on the deposit while the litigation was pending.
