Defendant appeals from the grant of a new trial following a jury verdict in favor of defendant. We affirm the trial court's actions.

This case arises out of an automobile accident occurring on September 1, 1980. Defendant, Randal Kolman, who was then seventeen years old, was working on his car in his own driveway that day.
