The plaintiff, Homecraft Builders, Inc., brought this action in Superior Court against the defendant, Oscar Samos. The plaintiff claimed damages in the amount of $100,000 which included (a) $8,000, plus interest, lent to the defendant; (b) the unpaid balance owed for the renovation of the defendant's residence; and (c) reimbursement for the partial construction of an office building for the defendant.
