Respondent Ronnie Belcher was indicted by the Pike County Grand Jury for three counts of intimidating a witness (KRS 524.040). He was tried and convicted on May 7, 1981, and sentenced to five years' confinement in the penitentiary on each count; however, the trial judge provided that the sentences were to run concurrently.
