Respondent, Thomas Giordano, was suspended from his duties as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Miramar and then was discharged by the city. His dismissal was affirmed by the Civil Service Board, which specifically found Giordano guilty of the following:

1. On or about January 30, 1978, while on duty, he struck a patient whom he was treating, causing further injury to the patient.
