PECK, Justice.

The defendant appeals from his conviction, after trial by jury, of assault and robbery with a dangerous weapon in violation of 13 V.S.A. § 608(b).

On November 25, 1978, at approximately 6 p. m., a clerk working in a small grocery store in St. Albans, Vermont, noticed a man in a tan corduroy jacket outside the store looking in at her. This man wore heavy boots and a knit hat folded up with a brim of different colors. He was "well built"...
