Defendant was convicted of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in violation of MCL 750.84; MSA 28.279, following a jury trial. He was sentenced to serve from 6-1/2 to 10 years in prison. Defendant appeals his conviction as of right.

The only issue defendant presents on appeal which merits discussion is his claim that the trial court failed to properly instruct the jury concerning...
