JUSTICE HEIPLE delivered the opinion of the court:

After a jury trial in the circuit court of Peoria County, defendant Lester L. Colvin was convicted of burglary. A seven-year sentence of imprisonment was ordered.

The evidence at trial revealed the following facts. At approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 9, 1980, Peoria County deputy sheriff John Vallely received a radio message that a burglar alarm had sounded at Hollis Grade School...
