Defendants, Melvin Bindom and Roland Gaines, along with Douglas W. Grimes, were jointly charged by bill of information with theft of money in excess of $500 belonging to the Central Louisiana Bank & Trust Company in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67. Defendants Gaines and Bindom were tried before a six-person jury and were found guilty. Grimes failed to appear for trial, his bond was forfeited and a warrant was issued...
