We granted discretionary review of trial court's denial of defendant Clyde Jack Bass' pre-trial motion to dismiss a charge of first-degree murder pending against him. Two issues are raised: 1) whether the State failed to comply with chapter 821, The Code, "Agreement on Detainers Compact"; and 2) whether defendant was denied his right to a speedy trial as guaranteed by U.S.Const.
