SMITH, Justice.

This case requires us to consider the constitutionality of a bill amending the Texas Controlled Substances Act. Tex.Rev.Civ. Stat.Ann. art. 4476-15 (Supp.1982). A pre-conviction application for writ of habeas corpus was filed with the trial court by these four appellants, who were jointly indicted for possession of marijuana. The court denied the writ.
