John Hopkins appeals his conviction for possessing a prohibited weapon. The jury assessed punishment at eight years confinement.

The State's evidence revealed that appellant was found in his automobile in possession of a shotgun which had a barrel measuring eleven inches. According to the provisions of Tex.Penal Code Ann. § 46.06(a)(3) and § 46.01(10) (Vernon 1974), a shotgun with a barrel less than eighteen inches in length...
