I. Introduction

On April 6, 1982, after entering a plea of not guilty, Antoinette Jones was found guilty by a jury on 12 counts of conspiring to defraud the government with respect to income tax refunds, making false, fictitious, and fraudulent claims against the government, and uttering forged United States Treasury checks. With respect to the first two counts, Jones was sentenced to the custody of the Attorney General...
