Defendant was charged in an indictment with the crime of burglary in the third degree. At the trial, the prosecution's principal witness testified that on February 13, 1981 she observed two young men from about 100 yards away who were attempting to push in the door of her parents' home while the parents were away on a vacation; that after watching them for a few minutes and seeing that they were gaining entry she went into her house across the street from her parents' home...
