GLAZE, Judge.

This is a criminal case in which appellant's sole issue on appeal is that the trial court erred in failing to grant a directed verdict on the offense of escape in the first degree. A jury found him guilty of two crimes, viz., (1) escape in the first degree, and (2) kidnapping.

The record reflects that the charges against appellant arose out of a prisoners' takeover of the maximum security building at the Cummins Unit of the Arkansas Department...
