Donna Walker Perry died as a result of a fire set in the bedroom of her apartment. A grand jury indicted her husband, Gene L. Perry, for murder and arson. After trial by jury, Perry was convicted of murder in the first degree for the death of his wife, as well as for arson.1 Perry appeals to this court.
