On January 22, 1978, Richard Land was shot and killed in a motel room in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Donna Aletta Cowles was accused of the killing and charged with Murder in the First Degree, in Tulsa County Case No. CRF-78-183. A jury found her guilty of Murder in the Second Degree.
