On October 15, 1980, defendant, Ronald Porzelius, was convicted, following a jury trial in the circuit court of McLean County, of the offense of retail theft under section 16a-3(a) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 16A-3(a)). Thereafter he was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 364 days. The sentence was made consecutive to a sentence which the defendant...
