The appellants in this case, Madalyn Murray O'Hair (O'Hair) and the Society of Separationists, Inc. (Society), commenced this action under 28 U.S.C. § 1343(3) & (4) (1976) and 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (Supp.1980), alleging a complex series of constitutional violations.
