The defendant, Mark Conner, was convicted of murder, 17-A M.R.S.A. § 201(1)(A),1 following a jury trial in the Superior Court (Cumberland County). On appeal, the defendant argues (1) that the prosecutor's closing argument deprived him of a fair trial, and (2) that the trial court erred by admitting into evidence a gruesome photograph of the victim.
