The plaintiff, Patricia L. Stephen, was involved in an automobile accident with another motor vehicle at an intersection in Denver. A sign requiring Stephen's car to stop before entering the intersection had been installed adjacent to the street, but at the time of the collision had been turned around by some unknown third person so as not to be visible to Stephen.
