Defendant, Robert Hicks, was charged by grand jury indictment with the aggravated rape of his eleven year old stepdaughter, in violation of R.S. 14:42. A jury found him guilty as charged and the trial court sentenced him to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
