The appellant, Donald C. Clayton, Jr., was convicted of second degree murder by a jury in the Circuit Court of Morgan County. His principal challenge is the sufficiency of the evidence supporting the murder conviction.

The defendant was charged with shooting Paul Snidemiller in the early-morning hours of July 17, 1977. At the time of the killing, the defendant was 18 years old, a highschool graduate, and lived with his parents. The shooting occurred...
