In 1969 Johnnie White, Jr., who was represented by appointed counsel, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to concurrent terms of imprisonment of not less than fifteen years nor more than life for second degree murder and to not less than five nor more than fifteen for assault with intent to kill. The district court had denied a request by appellant that he be allowed to withdraw his guilty...
