Joseph E. Schapiro appeals his conviction of first degree theft and unlawful issuance of checks or drafts. In 1978, Schapiro opened a retail dairy products store in Seattle and decided to establish a franchise for Haagen-Dazs ice cream of St. Louis, Missouri.
