The issue in this workmen's compensation case is whether the defendant was an employee of the plaintiff, Hamel Real Estate, Inc., when she was injured in a fall, or whether she was an independent contractor. On appeal from a decision of the labor commission, the Superior Court (Temple, J.) ruled that the defendant was an independent contractor and therefore not entitled to workmen's compensation benefits.
