ROBERTS, Justice.

Samuel A. Bunker appeals from judgments convicting him of rape, 17-A M.R. S.A. § 252 (Supp.1978), gross sexual misconduct, 17-A M.R.S.A. § 301 (Supp.1978), and kidnapping, 17-A M.R.S.A. § 301 (Supp. 1978). These convictions arose out of a single episode in which Bunker removed a ten-year-old girl from a school playground, drove her thirteen miles away to a wood areas, sexually molested and raped her, and then returned her to the playground...
