Evidence for the State tended to show that the decedent, Ethell "Slim" Wilson, left his sister's house in Salisbury on 13 July 1979 at approximately nine a. m. driving a green Cadillac automobile. Sometime before noon on that date Wilson, accompanied by defendant, drove the Cadillac into the driveway of James Pearson at 217 Oregon Street in Charlotte.
