This is an appeal from a conviction for aggravated assault where the punishment, enhanced by a prior felony conviction alleged and proven, was assessed by the jury at twenty (20) years' imprisonment and a $2,000.00 fine. This opinion also involves a post-conviction application for writ of habeas corpus under Article 11.07, V.A.C.C.P., which was filed during the pendency of the appeal...
