On April 26, 1978, a jury in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County found appellant guilty of the first degree murder of Carol Lewis and the second degree murder of Heather Lewis. The victims were, respectively, the wife and infant daughter of one Lon Alec Lewis; and it was alleged that the murders were committed pursuant to an agreement with Mr. Lewis — that they were, in colloquial terms, "contract murders...
