This is an appeal from a Superior Court judgment of conviction in which the trial justice, after a jury-waived trial, found the defendant, Andrew J. Charette, guilty of assaulting with intent to murder his twenty-two-month-old son, Ronald Charette (Ronald). The defendant seeks reversal of his conviction on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence on the question of intent and that his constitutional right to a speedy trial...
