Defendant appeals his conviction for murder in the first degree and rape in the first degree.

On September 9, 1979, the parents of the victim found her nude body on the floor of her apartment, her legs were spread apart and a catsup bottle inserted in the vagina. She was bruised, her skull was fractured and her rib cage had been struck hard enough to tear the liver. Death was caused by a cord wrapped...
