William Earl Davis appeals from a judgment in his favor in an action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 on the ground that the damage award was inadequate. Davis filed a pro se complaint alleging cruel and unusual punishment by virtue of his detention for sixteen days in a "punishment" cell of the county jail in Lee County, Arkansas.1 Davis requested $100,000.00 damages from defendant Billy Stile Smith, Chief Deputy Sheriff...
