Petitioner James Lloyd Young is currently incarcerated at the McCain Prison Unit, a state prison in McCain, North Carolina. In 1973, a jury found him guilty of murder in the second degree and he was sentenced to thirty years' imprisonment.1 Petitioner now brings this petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254 alleging that his incarceration is illegal for the following reasons...
