HILL, Judge.

In his first assignment of error, defendant argues that the trial judge erred by submitting the issue of last clear chance to the jury.

Justice Lake, writing in Exum v. Boyles, 272 N.C. 567, 575, 158 S.E.2d 845 (1968), points out that "the doctrine of the last clear chance is not a single rule, but is a series of different rules applicable to differing factual situations...
