On January 9, 1980, Gregory Vince James was arrested at his home, without an arrest warrant, by Officer Ikaksen of the King County Police on suspicion of stealing $6,000 from the safe of the Village Inn Restaurant. James was an employee there and had access to the combination of the safe.
