Mr. JUSTICE HEIPLE delivered the opinion of the court:

After a jury trial, the defendant, Gregg David, was convicted of two counts of criminal damage to property (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 21-1(a)). The defendant was sentenced to a 2 1/2-year term of imprisonment on the first count and a 364-day concurrent term of imprisonment on the second count.
