In August, 1974, plaintiff Johnella Echols was injured when the Greyhound bus in which she was riding collided with an automobile near Ann Arbor, Michigan. Plaintiffs filed a complaint alleging serious impairment of bodily function due to defendants' negligence, as provided in the residual tort liability provision of the no-fault insurance act, MCL 500.3135; MSA 24.13135.
