Defendant-appellant Jefferson Griffin was charged in Jay Circuit Court with Class C burglary, Ind. Code § 35-43-2-1 (Burns 1979 Repl.), and with being a habitual criminal under § 35-50-2-8. Griffin was tried to a jury and convicted on the burglary charge. In a bifurcated proceeding, he was found to be a habitual criminal.
