This is a direct appeal from the judgment of sentence entered by the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County on September 11, 1979. According to the factual posture of the case, at 2:30 p.m. on December 4, 1978, appellant pierced the throat of Harry Parness with an ice pick and robbed him.
