The defendant, Edward Kirwan, was indicted by the grand jury of Peoria County for the offense of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 9-1(a)(2)). Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Peoria County, Kirwan was convicted, and sentenced to the Department of Corrections for a term of (25) years. He now appeals from the judgment...
