This is an action filed on March 16, 1981, by Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) against Leslie R. Hinds and four other defendants (sometimes referred to hereafter as the Michigan action plaintiffs). The latter, four of whom are residents of Michigan, have brought an action against Conrail in the District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Civil No. 81-70591 (hereafter the Michigan action).
