This appeal challenges the superior court's refusal to modify the terms of a decree of divorce.

In December, 1976, Robert Van Brocklin filed an action for divorce against his then wife, Patricia Van Brocklin. The complaint, among other things, asked the superior court to adjudicate the parties' property rights, "if not amicably settled prior to trial."
