Following a jury trial defendant Ronald Stokes was convicted of attempt murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, pars. 8-4, 9-1), aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 12-4), and armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 33A-2). The trial court sentenced defendant to concurrent terms of 6 years for armed violence and attempt murder. No sentence...
