Silas Jones was convicted of conspiracy, 18 U.S.C. § 371 (1948) and a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1952(a)(3) (1970).1 He is alleged to have travelled from Oklahoma to Texas to cash checks received in payment of gambling debts incurred at the Black Garter Club in Cartwright, Oklahoma.
